Donna Franca (La Divina wines) is a perfect example of Wine and Road and Tastes association culturally, historically and traditionally linked to Marsala wine which is the most prestigious among the other liquor wines. Our concept of the tourism of wine is to let our guests live an unique experience through big agricultural firms, immense vineyard expanses, territories rich in history and the old Baglios (typical rural buildings located in Sicily country side and where the wine used to be produced), which represent the evidence of the big wine industry that developed in the middle of the nineteenth century in this side of Sicily. Donna Franca, which is located in the depths of a real oasis, is one of the most striking Baglios that used to belong to the most important family that have made the Marsala wine so popular, The Florios. The stay at Donna Franca makes you live again that old and upstanding atmosphere through the enjoyment of all the steps of the wine production and the different tastes of the Western Sicily wine-and-food tradition.

Buceci winery is a modern winery (they started few years ago) rich in tradition & culture. Only 30 km from Palermo, in the area of Monreale D.O.C., in town of Marineo, the new building, built in sense of typical sicilian architecture, was build up the old graqndfather's Farm ( still today the family is also an olive oil producer ). The wineyards is all biological & organic and thank to this the family won lot of international medals. They products white and red wine from wich the best know are the "millemetri", coming from wineyards 1000 meters on the sea level. A little winery with a big hearts.

Corvo winery is linked to Corvo wine, a wine that made the history of siciilian wine all over the world. The historical winery is 20 km from Palermo and offer to the visitor a view of its important history. The ambient created for tourist let them also to see the agricolture museum and the family museum with, at the end of the visit, one of the most rich wine shop of Sicily.

Florio Winery, constructed in 1832 by Vincenzo Florio, are a place where you can not only dive into history, but also enter a contemporary and artisanal world with an intense, unusual and precious soul, where tradition and innovation blend to create a uniquely fascinating reality. The historic Baglio, overlooking the sea, welcomes visitors with its florid Mediterranean gardens flooded with light and colour. The Winery, with their characteristic tuft stone paving and impressive blind-pointed arches, protectively guard the prized Florio wines in their barrels, which find here the perfection of time and waiting. A whole world to discover, thanks to the Donna Franca Florio Tasting Room, an innovative space created to offer visitors a suggestive taste of the bouquets and flavours of Florio wines, and the brand new Florio wine shop.

Baglio Fontanasalsa is located in the center of a vast plain of olive groves that stretches from the foot of Mount Erice to the lagoon of the Lagoon , where is located the island of Mozia , in the province of Trapani, on the far western tip of Sicily.

Situated in a land where for centuries the myth is interwoven with the rich events of history: Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines , Arabs, Swabians, French and Spanish have taken place in the management of land, prove it , of course, the presence in the company of plant species that date back hundreds of years ago.

The Baglio , located in the center of the company, has its origins in the 700 as a fortified place where we welcome the flat of the product , because the mill if they drew the oil.

For generations, is in possession of the family Burgarella who has exercised a specialized olivicultura .

Villa Dafne is an agro -livestock which for more than three generations grow and raise in respect of the land and animals, allowing the food to gain health , energy and taste.

The brothers Mascarella are specialists in the production of cheese, activities carried out strictly in biological system to continue to protect the one hand the ecosystem of the area, to ensure quality and healthy products .

The milk of sheep Company Mascarella is completely transformed for the production of cheeses : pecorino siciliano , the flower Sicanian , black Sicily, the cheese, the pirmintio , the fresh mozzarella and delicious ricotta cheese to be eaten hot with serum or fresh .

For the preparation of these products is used traditional dairy technology handed down from generation to generation .

Sunday Villa Dafne organizes for all its guests, the preparation of ricotta ( zabbinata ) using traditional techniques : a treat with the homemade bread.

After a panorama view on the country road outside the modern City of Palermo we arrive on a tipical Sicilian farm house named Parcovecchio, in the zone on Marineo, about 30 km from Palermo. The owners welcome you spending a time to visit the farm factory ( famous ricotta cheese is product here ). Then the interest is moved to the coocking class made by the son of the owner, Ciro. There is no a particular menu in program, just, as the original Mediterranean diet says, cook fresh and local products from Sicilian territory. After pre-dishes made of cheeses, handmade marmalade and local vegetables and local bread, pasta will be served ( pasta is one the the most important meal in Italy ) in the country restaurant of the farm ( Trattoria ). Local red wine & water will be served during the lunch. Second dish made of meet and fresh local fruits gives end to a beautiful excursion on the country heart of Sicily, outside the classical tourist itinerary ! Don’t take distraction, You’ll see all the preparation of the menu !

The overall aim of the association is to create a widespread sensitivity and appreciation for nature tourism with low environmental impact and protect the interests of operators who conduct or intend to conduct this activity at a professional level and enterprise, in the laws that region Sicily has already passed and which still awaits full administrative application .

Today these figures are gathered in the Group Nature Guides FederEscursionismo of Sicily as a vehicle for the dissemination of the culture of the land continues ...

The Group of Nature Guides has the specific task of coordinating and protect all the figures that up to now , while other professions do not work , they have exercised that support activities in natural areas in a variety of ways ( Hiking, Cycling , Horse, Ski touring , etc ...) on behalf of various associations and organizations gaining experience and professionalism in the field directly or through related training or knowledge gained with undergraduate degrees in science, partly responding to the growing tourist demand of hikers and travelers that otherwise would not find adequate supply .

The EDF Group Guides implements in part, for members who meet the requirements , even the law of the 8 regional art. 5 and May 3, 2004 decree establishing the relevant register of environmental guides ( DAn 161/gab . 12:11 Del . 2004), and wants to create a dialogue with the competent institutions to complete the necessary paperwork for enrollment guides GAE .

The purpose of the Guide Group of EDF is therefore to create a broad category of skilled professionals able to promote the territory and jurisdiction "champions " of environmental values and nature conservation.

The Green tourism in Sicily offers a potentially immense natural heritage with 5 regional parks, 80 nature reserves and marine protected areas 6 (source siciliaparchi.com ) for lovers of hiking and sightseeing alternatives to the most popular destinations .
